Chmiel Files Appeal and Notice of Possible Lawsuit Against Princeton Public Schools
On June 14, the day before the graduation, Chmiel’s attorney filed an appeal with the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law and an official notice (a tort claims notice) with the Princeton Public Schools and Board of Education that leaves open the possibility of a lawsuit at a later time. Frank Chmiel Speaks Out after the Public Hearing
Chmiel weighed in on the PHS Parents Discussion group. Chmiel thanked his supporters, updated them on his personal situation, including the loss of income and medical benefits effective July 1, and also lodged some serious charges at school officials. Chmiel accused them of reprimanding staff members who had spoken up in his defense and silencing others who might otherwise have supported him. Read more at TapInto

Dismissed Princeton High School principal requests public hearing
When the Princeton School Board announced that Princeton High School Principal Frank Chmiel ’98 had been placed on administrative leave, some students and parents expressed their outrage and disbelief, even walking out during school. Former Princeton High Principal Asks for Public Hearing to Appeal His Dismissal
Chmiel’s attorney, David Schroth, announced that he had sent an e-mail, “with an attached letter to School Board President Dafna Kendal, Counsel to the Board Vittorio LaPira, and Superintendent Kelley requesting a hearing pursuant to N.J.A.C 6A:10-9.1(a) [a Donaldson hearing] and requesting that it be public.” Read more at TapInto

Firestorm erupts at Princeton High School over principal’s unexplained removal
Upwards of 75 students walked out of afternoon classes and joined parents to gather in front of Princeton High School at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 21. They chanted slogans like “We want Chmiel!” and cheered for cars that honked as they drove by. Read more at the Daily Princetonian

On Friday, April 21, the day after dismissed Princeton High School principal Frank Chmiel received the “reasons for dismissal” from the superintendent of schools, about 100 high school students walked out early from school and marched to the school district’s administrative building at 25 Valley Road.
